Margaritaville Cafe to open in Nashville confirmed

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

From the Tennessean newspaper article by G. Chambers Williams III: Margaritaville Nashville

“We have signed a lease and we’re ready to roll,” said Mark Bloom, a principle in the Corner Partnership, which is involved in several other downtown properties including the Hilton and Union Station hotels. “Buffett wants to make music a big part of the venue here, and the café is going to appeal to the young crowd, locals and visitors to our city,” he said. “Besides the food and special drinks synonymous with Margaritaville, the music will be a special attraction.”

They hope to open by the end of the year on Lower Broadway in the 18,000-square-foot building formerly occupied by Planet Hollywood at 322 Broadway. (Map link) It has two floors, both of which will be used by the restaurant. At street level there will be a restaurant, bar and three live-music stages. The second floor will house another bar, additional restaurant seating, and a “small concert hall with state-of-the-art lighting and sound system,” Bloom said. Total seating capacity is 350, with about 200 in the concert hall upstairs. A retail shop selling Buffett music and memorabilia will be included, as well. Live music will be featured daily. The café will be open from 11 a.m.-3 a.m. seven days a week, Bloom said, and the entertainment will include “a nightly showcase of newcomers.” Buffett’s band, the Coral Reefers, is based in Nashville, and there will be a special circular staircase in the restaurant “with a family tree” paying tribute to past and present members of the band, Bloom said. Many are Nashville residents. Construction will begin in late April, and will involve a “multimillion-dollar renovation” of the building “from top to bottom”.

Hump Day Happy Hour April 22

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Spring has Sprung…………….or has it??? Come on out for our April Hump Day Happy Hour on Wednesday the 22nd at 6 PM and find out!!!

We’re heading back to that tropical haven up in Hendersonville on the shore of Old Hickory Lake! That’s right, it’s BAREFOOT CHARLIE’S (Island Attitude Local Latitude) and it’s perfect for phlocking around! Barefoot Charlie's logo It’s got colorful, beach decor, right down to the Landshark surfboard on the wall. It’s got a center bar with games on the right side and dining tables on the left (the menu looks yummy). There’s a nice big deck/patio too that overlooks the water – awesome in the summer I bet….almost there!! And they’ve got live music on Wednesday nights starting at 7:30pm. It’s easy to find – right off of Gallatin Road on Sanders Ferry Road. Click for map.

HEY!! We’ve got new members ya’all!!! Come out and share a brew and some great music with your fellow parrot heads, and WELCOME our 12 newest phlockers!
* Tracy and Hollis Collins
* Priscilla and Terry Lehman
* Brian and Stephanie Nagashima
* Merwin and Crystal Ullestad
* Jim Cozart
* Suzy Bennett
* Leah Sartino
* Terry Holder

And while you’re at it…..we’ve chosen 2 CHARITIES, close to home, that we hope you’ll participate in!!!
1. Our former president, Debra, has written a proposal for raising money for a very distressed and victimized colleague. Details were in the email attachment sent in the Happy Hour announcement email. Email me at info@mcphins.com if you deleted the email and wish to see the attachment again.
2. Our charity director, Tina, is asking us to reach out to our neighbors in Murfreesboro who were recent victims of the Good Friday tornado. The American Red Cross is accepting donations to distribute to those in immediate need.

If either of these causes brings out the Parrot Head in you – join us next Wednesday to Party With a Purpose. We will be collecting cash, checks or gift card donations the whole evening. It’s what we do, it’s who we are.

I’m looking forward to seeing ya ~ Cheers!
