Some pholks fell for the April Fool’s Day joke about “Buffett building a mega resort on an island in the Persian Gulf just off the coast of Dubai.”

“United States-based Margaritaville Enterprises announced today plans to build a resort and casino on an artificial chain of islands off the coast of Dubai, similar to the Palm Islands.”

No Fooling – Buffett performed at his Margaritaville in Panama City, Florida Wednesday night April 31. He was joined by Mac McAnally and the Barry Fish Band to perform 8 songs including Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise. I hope he shows up at the (yet to be opened) Nashville Margaritaville every now and then to sing a few songs.

Jimmy Buffett has a new album (double CD) called “Encores” that will be released on April 20^th 2010. It is a live acoustic album consisting of 22 final encore songs from concerts during the 2008 & 2009 tours. Some songs are just Jimmy solo but some are with band members or special guests. According to the SportsByBrooks celebrity/sports news site Jimmy Buffett is on the short list of performers for the 2011 Super Bowl half-time musical act at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. The possible list of of choices consists of Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, and Jimmy Buffett.

The new Magaritaville Niagara Falls is having a job fair April 8th – 11th and is expecting to open in May of 2010. It has a neat view of the falls. Various job search sites and even the Margaritaville web site are listing job positions at the Nashville Margaritaville which is expected to open in late 2010.

Happy Birthday Delaney Buffett! Jimmy and Jane Buffett’s daughter Sarah Delaney turns 18 April 1st. The song “Delaney Talks To Statues” from the 1994 album Fruitcakes was written about her.
